About Nick / 01
Practical drawing support from first sketch to approval-ready detail.
Nick prepares planning application drawings and building regulation drawings, taking projects from first sketch through submission and approval-ready technical drawings.
The work / What I do day to day
Clear, coordinated information for the next decision, whether that is a planning submission or work on site.
From the first measure-up to a coordinated drawing set.
Most projects begin with a conversation and a measured survey of the existing building. Nick turns that information into existing and proposed plans, elevations and sections so you can see clearly what is there and what is changing.
He prepares and submits planning applications where required, then develops building regulation drawings with construction details and specifications. The drawings are prepared to explain how the work is intended to be built and to support the building control process.
As the project develops, Nick liaises with planning authorities, building control and structural engineers. He keeps the drawings coordinated as decisions are made, so changes are reflected consistently rather than being left to sort out later.
Projects / Typical work
For homes, small developments, and practical building work.
Nick works with homeowners, developers and small contractors across Shropshire and Staffordshire. Typical projects include domestic extensions, loft and garage conversions, new builds, renovations and small commercial schemes.
Whether the project is a straightforward alteration or a more involved development, the focus is the same: drawings that communicate the proposal clearly, meet the requirements of the next stage, and give the people building it something useful to work from.
A construction background / Why it helps
Drawings grounded in how projects are actually delivered.
Nick has more than 25 years in construction, with a background in commercial and programme management. That wider experience helps him think beyond the drawing: the information needs to be practical, buildable and properly cost-aware.
When a project moves to site, estimating and project controls are a natural extension of the drawing work. Nick can help make sense of the scope, track cost and progress, and keep changes visible as the work develops.
